POINT: Willard Mitt Romney offers that his effective tax rate is “probably close to 15%.” That is the ACTUAL LEGAL TAX RATE on MONEY MADE OFF MONEY! And most Republicans, including Romney, think this tax rate should be even LOWER! Almost NO ONE in the 1% pays the 35% Income Tax Rate Republicans constantly “rail” against. Even MORE telling about what Joe Scarborough calls Mitt’s “big disconnect” is the fact that he said he made some money from speaking fees, but “it was not much.” This is ALL the news on Romney today.
COUNTERPOINT: Willard, WAKE UP! You JUST DON’T GET IT. You call $374,000 “NOT MUCH!” It is about 9 times MORE than the average income of most Americans. You laugh off as irrelevant income approximately $41,000 per speech, or about $8,000 MORE than the YEARLY income average in South Carolina! For almost 40 years, INCOME INEQUALITY between the richest 1% and the REST of US has grown and grown. The middle class is being SLOWLY DESTROYED. The truly OUT of TOUCH Mitt Romney’s policies would WEAKEN it FURTHER! IF WE LET HIM.
